Topic at RSG Kolkata 2021: Extending Scrum for Enterprise Agility: A Disciplined Approach

Scrum, and more broadly agility, have taken the world by storm and are here to stay. Scrum claims to be the art of the possible, but leaves the implementation up to you. How does agility work in enterprise-class organizations such as financial institutions, government agencies, and other established companies? How do you extend Scrum to address the full-range of complexities faced by modern organizations? How does Scrum co-exist within a hybrid environment? How do you fill in the areas that Scrum purposefully doesn’t address, yet are a vital aspect of what your team, and your organization, needs to accomplish?

In this keynote Scott Ambler shows how to extend Scrum by applying techniques from PMI’s Disciplined Agile (DA) toolkit. This tool kit provides straightforward guidance to help teams and organizations choose their way of working (WoW) in a context-sensitive manner, providing a solid foundation for business agility. DA’s fundamental advice is to start where you are, do the best that you can in the situation that you face, and always strive to get better.
